General Doors Corporation
General Doors Corp. has been manufacturing sectional overhead doors since 1947.
Originally, the product lines were entirely wood doors, but we added commercial steel doors in the 1970's and residential steel doors in the 1980's. The 1990's brought development of a network of distribution and sub-manufacturing facilities to serve the East and Northeast parts of the country. The current decade has brought a continued expansion of manufacturing and distribution space, and the development of wood and steel carriage style doors. We are one of the few door companies that still makes a full line of wood doors and that still manufactures our own track and hardware.
Residential Carriage House Wood Doors
Avalon
Doors in the Avalon Collection are built using traditional stile and rail construction methods, using heavy duty millwork of clear hemlock. Panel options are luaun plywood, 3/8” thick beaded pine plywood, or ¾” thick edge glued cedar raised panels. These doors feature true divided lites and are available in swing, fold and barn style configurations.
Features:
Traditional stile and rail construction using heavy duty parts of 1-3/8” thick clear solid rail Hem/Fir lumber, available with optional full plywood back.
Choice of panel material includes: 1/4” lauan mahogany plywood, 3/8” thick beaded pine plywood, or 3/4”VG edge glued Western Red Cedar raised panels.
True Divided Lites
Available in Swing, Tri-fold, Bi-fold, or Barn-Style designs. Factory priming is available.
(Factory priming is not recommended on doors with cedar raised panels because the water based primer we must use in a factory environment tends to raise the grain on the machined surfaces of the panel that are cut cross grain.)
